Biography

Barbara has over 30 years of R&D and project management experience in the national laboratory, university and private sectors. At PNNL, she supports clients in areas of performance reliability and risk management. A recent focus was to help build a laboratory emphasis in biomarkers for environmental sustainability and predictive toxicology. In the private sector, she was a participating founder in a medical imaging company, Advanced Imaging Technologies, Inc. (AIT), responsible for strategic planning, clinical research management, and securing initial investment. Barbara holds three patents, and has been an invited speaker at ASTM's International Symposium on Performance of Protective Clothing; Joint Services Workshop on Methodology for Testing Chemical Defense Clothing Materials; and the Department of Defense Technical Advisory Group Plenary Sessions. Barbara has represented PNNL in the DOE's Annual Review of Women's Programs and has been the recipient of a Federal Design Award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
